| Everytime I go to Trenton to do sport pilot lessons, I feel that airport doesn't seem like it's my "home airport". While most think (in my opinion) that a home airport is where you're based out of or fly out of, I define it as the distance away from my home. Sure I also use the same definition that most pilots use (where you fly out of), but I don't feel I can call it home because it is too far away from my home. |

Pitch a tent on the field somewhere. Then you can be closer and truly call it your "home field."
Kevin,
I understand what you're saying. The plane I rent is an 1 1/2 hours away. There is an airfield 5 minutes away, but of course no one flies outta there but E2's and airtractors. |

| I fly out of the closes airport to me, but I wish I could have my own landing strip, just a simple landing strip with a hanger for my aircraft. :) |
