Hi, I will introduce myself here.

I'm Tim and I flew my first solo today at Essex Skypark outside of Baltimore after 7.5 hours of training. Weather was great, very light crosswind. I thought I would be more nervous but I just kept doing what I've been doing and it went fine except for landing long and ballooning a tad in the flare.

I've been lurking here for several months but the time has come to show myself, sort of.

Way to go, Tim! Congratulations, and welcome to the community of aviators. In what aircraft did you solo?

Gee, I don't know anything about that one. Feel free to enlighten us about it. :)

Great job Tim! Fantastic feeling isn't it? I just solo'd 4/1, and like you, I wasn't that nervous. I just told myself I've done this 80 times already, just a few more. I thought the best part was ther take off. Once I was off the ground by myself, I just had the biggest smile and even LOL'd saying out loud this is so f***IN AWESOME!!!!

Congrats and good luck on finishing up! I'm taking a month off now, going to FL next week where I'm going to rent a Tecnam near W.Palm Beach. When I get back, I'll be on the "checkride express" as my CFI calls it with just three hours of dual left (2 xC) and my solo requirement. I have 15.5 hrs currently.

Nice Tim..

I remember my first solo.. My left leg was shaking so bad, I was all over the place on the rudder.

Once I got 1 landing in, I was all good!

Cerwindel,

Is that Skylark still flying over at KTCY? That was my first solo....in the lumpy, bumpy winds of Tracy!
