Does anyone have advice on post-market add-on to a Remos GX?
My reason is to get my wife flying.
Thanks,

Try sending her up with a female flight instructor you know and trust. That often does the trick.

| There are really two items of discussion here. To get your wife excited about flying, check with you local 99s chapter about when they might be doing a Flying Companion Seminar. And, as for the parachute, to add one to an S-LSA will require a Letter of Authorization from the manufacturer. You can expedite the process by getting a copy of the Installation Instructions from the parachute's manufacturer, and emailing that as a PDF to their LSA Project Manager. Be sure to include your airplane's make, model, year, serial number, empty weight, weight of parachute, and registration number with your request. Especially if that manufacturer installs the same parachute in some of its planes as an option, they will send you an LOA as a PDF email attachment, usually within a couple of days. |

| I looked at the G3 when I was shopping for an LSA 4 years ago and test flew one out of OKC. The dealer had 2 planes in stock but neither had a chute. My wife insisted on a chute, as well. The dealer said this was not an issue and they had done it in the past. At the time, the Remos distributor in Springdale, AR did the work. I'd give them a call. They can probably install and provide the LOA. |

Just remember that the LOA must be specific to the particular aircraft (you cannot use one that was issued to a different aircraft for exactly the same alteration). And, LOAs can only be issued by the manufacturer (not the dealer or distributor). So, allow yourself some time to get the proper paperwork in from Germany, before you have the mod done. |
