| It appears the revisions to the GI Bill would allow part time flight training, any one have any info on whether or not this would be applicable to sport or private pilot training? If you read the revisions http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/2/s3447 it appears it would open the door for such training. |

This may be helpful:

“This is great news across several fronts. It is highly supportive of general aviation businesses, such as flight schools and aircraft manufacturers of training fleets, supports AOPA's flight training initiative, and is a big win for members who are veterans,” said AOPA Vice President of Legislative Affairs Lorraine Howerton. “For disabled veterans, it opens up opportunities to fly light sport aircraft—good news across the board.” |

I sent that question to AOPA a week or so. Still waiting to hear back. The old bill did not allow any sort of primary training. I'm interested to know if the new one does or not too. If it does though, it's still going to be pretty limiting as it is clear that the school needs to be part 141 and nearly all of the current sport pilot schools are part 61.
