Your log book is by far the most important item. You hours in it are YOURS FOREVER. Your new instructor will start right where your hours leave off. EXCEPT THE HOURS GETTING USED TO A NEW AIRCRAFT as was stated before.
If your previous "flight school" was a formal (like part 141) school, your records and daily grade slips will give your new instructor a clearer picture of your levels of knowledge and ability.
Simply put, swapping flight schools is usually just a SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD.
