| Am new to the world of LSA. Am I correct in my understanding that a home built plane N-registered as an experimental that meets all the physical requirements for light sport aircraft can be flown by a person holding a private pilot certificate but no medical under the light sport rule as long has he hasn't been denied a medical. The specific aircraft is a RANS S-6 Coyote II ES |

You are 100% accurate. As you probably know already, the technical term for the airplane you describe is "E.A.B." Experimental Amateur Built.
You could even fly a factory-built FAA certified aircraft if it meets the LSA req'mts. without a medical.
Champs, Cubs, Ercoupe Ragwing C-Models are some that fit the bill. |

| Bryan is absolutely correct. I flew a 1946 Ercoupe 415C which falls into the category of LSA compliant certified aircraft before going to an S-LSA Lightning LS-1. |
