I just posted this on the Red Boards so I thought I would share with my SP friends.
The B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Procedures) feature of ForeFlight is a nice addition to it's complement of tools. I use it to copy over current AFDs into ForeFlight for the airports I may be traveling to.

Since I am planning a trip to the Bahamas I wanted to see if I could complete the same thing with a checklist for both outbound and inbound travel. It worked like a champ.

You can name your procedures whatever you want as long as you use the correct format. I also found that if you save the file as a .pdf but rename it without the .pdf extension it will show up in ForeFlight without the .pdf trailing the procedure name.
I saved two checklists for travel to the Bahamas, one for outbound and one for inbound travel. When I pull up MYGF in the airports section of ForeFlight they both are there under the Procedures tab. I named the files with the following and they appear in Foreflight as listed.
Named file: MYGF_Checklist_Bahamas to US / MYGF_Checklist_US to Bahamas
Shows up in ForeFlight as: Bahamas to US / US to Bahamas
MYGF tells ForeFlight which airport to list the information under.
Checklist names the file under the Procedures tab on the left. You can have multiple names like checklist, procedures, Ron's to do list, etc...
Bahamas to US is how the file shows up on the right of Checklist. You can have multiple files under the same heading (Checklist) like I did with Bahamas to US and US to Bahamas.
Pretty cool feature that will hopefully help me to remember everything I need to do for my first Bahamas trip. I didn't know how many people were familiar with this feature so I thought I would share my findings. |
