| Sweet aircraft. The iPhone does have some cool aviation apps. I haven't investigated their compatibility for iPad yet - but am about to do just that. |

I have the Ipad and love it. There are some wonderful aviation Apps that make it nice both in pre-flight and aloft.
I have the 32GB 3G model with the following Apps:
Foreflight
SkyCharts Pro
GPS HD
AeroWeather and AccuWeather
GoodReader
LogTen Basic
MaxJournal
I am looking into the SkyRadar that offers inflight weather and traffic with the purchase of their ADS-B In box and waiting to see the new release of WingX Pro 7. I use a Steinheil anti-glare / anti-fingerprint screen protector so glare is eliminated. I have used it on several long X-country flights and it worked perfectly. I can't wait to see what else the developers have in mind for the future of the Ipad and it's Apps. |

| Out of curiosity, why both Foreflight and SkyChartsPro? Foreflight for flight planning and SkyCharts for moving map? |

I had gotten SkyCharts Pro before Foreflight updated their software. Now that Foreflight provides the same information as SkyCharts on the VFR sectional moving map, I stick to them for all my needs. Outstanding App, now we just have to see how the new WingX Pro will stack up with it's Safe Taxi feature. |

I specifically bought my iPad to use with the ForeFlight Mobile software. It saves me tons of time and cabin space in that one small format. I can actually see a day in the very near future where rather than a Garmin in the plane for flying, we use iPads and then get to choose the software we wish to use for navigation, flight planning, and other reference material.
I've heard of some or most of those apps. The Aviation community is going to be in for one heck of a ride once these really start gaining traction. All we really need now is some I/O and software to go to engine monitoring and we're all set.
I've been looking at the Log Ten Pro software for keeping my logs - however it's a tad pricey if you ask me.
Another one to look at is AVConnect. They don't have their iPad software out yet - but it's got some nice features to it. |

I have been using Log Ten Basic for now. It is a free Iphone / Itouch App that works well enough for a back up until someone designs a nice logbook App for Ipad. |
