Hey guys, just got finished setting up our camera system and we made a few quick videos. Let me know what you think, we used a Challenger II, Gobosh, and Remos G3 for the videos. You can increase the quality up to 720P.

Nice....

I'm seeing more and more of these lately. I wonder what kind if camera and mount were used? I am renting so I'd like to find something portable.

It's a new company that just started selling HD cameras, it is the only system we have found that you can plug your headset right into. Records in up to 1080P resolution. Its so new it isn't listed anywhere yet, we were one of the "test runs" and I couldn't be happier with the system. It records onto a microSD card inside the camera ( the camera has its own rechargeable battery). You can capture any cockpit audio, whether it is intercom or ATC. I think they're intro-ing it around $799 complete with a strong suction-cup mount (it's how we attached it to the Gobosh and Remos). PM me if you want contact info for the guys building it. I think they are trying to get listed in Sporty's but not sure on the progress yet.

I haven't tried this one, but have had it on my wish list for a while, and at $325 it is about half the price of the one you quoted. Gets good reviews from Amazon users.

ContourHD Helmet Camera (Amazon Link)

Records in full 1080p HD and is very, very compact (designed to attach to a helmet or goggles) with a water-resistant body. Looks like it would be easy to mount to a wing or inside the cockpit. Doesn't have an external microphone plugin, though.

The only problem with the Contour one is the built in mic....all you get is engine noise. And running with a tape recorder and syncing up the audio is more work than most of us would like.

I guess it depends on whether or not you want audio from the intercom/radios. It sure does come in handy for flight training however.
