This is a restart of the original thread started by KSCessnaDriver that veered off topic. Let's hope this one stays on the topic of discussion about the aircraft and the company forrey into the LSA market.

Basically, from that article, it sounds like that Piper is going to acquire 49% of Czech Sport Aircraft (CSA), and then sell SportCruisers as Piper's. I'm really excited about this possibility, and think it will really help to bring more of the big airplane companies on board, helping to spread the sport pilot/LSA concept to a wider audience."

I personally have flown the SportCruiser, (now PiperSport) several times and feel that it is a great little airplane that should have been much more popular than what it was, unfortunately due to some of the internal issues. But, with Piper now distributing this roomy and nice flying aircraft, I would expect it to take off and be a great success. When you think about it, the SportCruiser is a nice replacement for the Tomahawk, easy to fly, very roomy, and great looking.

Cessna has left a huge opening with the SkyCatcher issues, (that I am sure they are addressing), and Piper may just be able to gain some nice market share.

Now if they could just lower the price…
