Cessna has terminated all 4 Cessna Pilot Center Regional Managers.
Textron/Cessna doesn't seem to be too positive about things to come.

Cessna Aircraft has layed off over half their work force since the beginning of 2008.
Cessna/Textron is currently being sued in U.S. District Court, for District of Rhode Island case 09 367
This lawsuit is for " misrepresenting of backlog orders " in other words they had false orders and/or canceled orders, showing on their backlog sheets, in order to jack up their stock market sales.
I forgot, how many deposits did they say they had for their Sport Plane ?
Kinda makes me wonder!

Unforunately, I think they have found out that the aviation market conditions have changed dramatically since the inception of the 162.
I doubt that the CPCs can afford $100K+ airplanes at this juncture and a lot of those 1000 initial orders are going south.
The jets have always carried Cessna and that market now sucks as well.
Sorry to see it and I hope that Textron/Cessna doesn't pull the pin again on piston production, but that's the world we currently live in. |
