There are none in my area. Closest is about 6-7hours away!
I'm in a city of 2 million people...and there's nothing.
I contacted the FSDO and they are no help.
What can I do? |

Try asking one of the local "Private Pilot" DPE to get Sport added to his/her privileges.
What type of airplane do you own? Ask your local dealer for a referral to a DPE.

FSDO said they would call me back...still nothing.
I contacted 3 sport pilot examiners...1 said he's retired...another said he doesn't do tailwheel, and the other guy has his number disconnected.
It needs to be tailwheel. |

This is a big problem for sure.
First go to the listing at
http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/sport_pilot/
to get started. However, the FSDO may not add the examiners they allow to the list so it may not be complete.
Second, call sport examiners nearest you and ask.
If you must, get your rating in a tricycle, and add the tailwheel with an endorsement.
You may have to travel to take your checkride. |
