Chesapeake Sport Pilot is having an Open House on September 26th. We will have a Wings Seminar on Medical Issues by a local AME. We will have Young Eagle flights and demo flights in the Tecnam aircraft. The new P2006T will be on display. This event is a celebration of Light Sport. We in the process of completing our new 6,000 square foot facility for the flight school, pilot shop, aircraft sales, and maintenance. All of this is built upon the shoulders of light sport and sport pilots.

We are hoping to market this to general aviation at large as a demonstration of the value of light sport to the aviation industry. While most aviation business are hurting, light sport is thriving. I hope some of you can make it. For more details, go to our website at www.chesapeakesportpilot.com.

Thanks!

Last time I was there I saw the clearing and wondered if that was for the hanger. See you guys at the open house. I checked the schedule and everything is booked for intro flights.

I hope we get a lot of new people there. I can’t wait to see the P2006T although not multi-rated.

You should consider a cross-post in the AOPA forums.

I am looking forward to the Open House. I stopped by twice this (past) week to see the progress on hangar construction. Lookin' good!

Here is the framing going in place on Monday morning, August 24th. (Taken from the ramp in front of the airport office.)

Here the skin is almost complete except for the hangar door, on Thursday afternoon, August 27th. (Sorry for the picture quality - shooting into the sun to get nearly the same view as four days earlier.)

If you don't mind me asking, I'd love to know the size of the hanger, how much it costs and how much you ended up spending on construction and site preparation. A friend and I are looking at doing a similar project.

If you'd rather take this to email you can contact me at jstewart@jkmicro.com

The in addition to great seminars, demo flights, young eagles, seaplanes, and twins, the CSP Open House on Sat the 26th at W29 will feature a "Learn to Fly" tent . At this tent, we will not only have information about flight training, checkouts and rentals for our guests but we will also have:

* FREE student pilot certificates
* One-on-one with an FAA flight doctor
* SeaRey Club Information
* Aviation Insurance Information

Anyone wishing to obtain a student pilot certificate at the open house should register before hand at the IACRA web site: https://iacra.faa.gov/iacra/ This great opportunity is made possible by the generosity of DPE John Cutcher. There is still a slight possibility that John could get called out of town at the last minute but right now it looks like he'll be available to issue certificates.

Dr. Brigham will be available at the tent after her talk to answer questions you may have about the aviation medical process.

While final details of our SeaRey club are still being worked out, we hope to have some general information available at the booth.

Our owners have been working hard to try and get our insurance brokers to swing by the open house and give a short talk. I'm hoping they will have some time before or afterward to answer your questions at the booth.

The Open House is shaping up to be a really great event. Please don't forget to register for the medical seminar so you'll be eligible for Wings credit. http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=26954

We look forward to seeing you at the party!

Helen
