Anyone flown a Super Sport Cub?
What was your impression?
Looks like really high performance.
I don't understand the 80 HP engine limit in cruse though???
I guess I could learn to fly a taildragger.
I started to learn to fly in Cubs 45 years ago but it's all gone now.

The 80hp continuous is so that the plane meets LSA specs.

The maximum speed allowed is based on the engines continuous HP rating.

"Maximum speed in level flight with maximum continuous power (Vh)—138 mph (120 knots) CAS"

They derated the engine until the performance was within the limits.

180HP for take off/climb, 80HP continuous for maximum level speed etc.....

They can set the continuous HP rating anywhere they would like.

It's a numbers game but falls within current rules.
