After 5 hours of training I bought an Allegro 2000 in North Carolina and flew it back to Mesa Az with my CFI. My 6-26 hours were cross country dual!! I now have 70 hours dual and 20 solo. If my CFI had taught me how to land a LSA the correct way instead of the way a C172 lands I would have cut about 20 hours off my training time. Full flap, no power, stall it in, is NOT the way to lean how to Land an Allegro 2000. Some power and min flaps is lots better...Picked up that information here and on CTFLYER.com..Check ride is not far away now that the wind and snow are leaving Taylor in North East Arizona. Can't wait to take someone else with me. There is a waiting list!
Ka - just to make sure we're reading this right ... are you saying that in your 1.5 years of lessons you now have 70 hours dual, and 20 hours solo, and haven't been to checkride yet?
thanks.

My first lesson was an introductory lesson at the Lansing Illinois Airport as a 16th birthday present from my parent's Loved every minute of it, hooked immediately....finances for college took front seat...Joined military went to school and earned a commision in the US Army branched Aviation in the Army Reserves and returned to flight training in 1993, Wild Bill Clinton cut Military funding after I had my first flight behind the controls of a UH-1 and went home...(Have to love the way the government funds things) but that is another story.....
Kids work and turning age 40 I have been looking for SP training that is reasonable and close enough to work on it at my liesure.....Work and kids are consuming the majority of my time at the moment.
Hoping to sit in the front seat again some time soon. |
